Brief Information
Dr. Moses Wambi is a Seasoned Teacher Educator with a very strong background of a Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE) from the then, Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo (ITEK). His area of specialization is Curriculum Studies at Masters of Education Degree M. Ed level obtained from Makerere University and Early Childhood Education (ECE) at (PhD) level obtained from the same university. Until recently when he was appointed Principal (Director) National Teachers’ College (NTC) - Kabale in Kigezi Region in Western Uganda, also a Part-Time Senior Lecturer at Uganda Christian University for Masters of Education Degree students at Mukono Main Campus and currently a member of the Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education (UNITE) at the Secretariat in Shimoni and a part-time Lecturer at Kyambogo University in the Department of Teacher Education and Extension. He is also the former Principal of Arua Core Primary Teachers’ College in West Nile and worked as Deputy Principal for Outreach Programmes at Bishop Willis Core Primary Teachers’ College in Iganga for a number of years. Currently; a Board Member of Integrated Disabled Women Activities -IDIWA.
Kaggwa Hajira
Kaggwa Hajira is a dedicated member of IDIWA Board of Directors. As a woman living with albinism, she brings a unique perspective to disability inclusion work, using her voice to advocate for equal opportunities and social justice for marginalized groups. Her goal is to contribute meaningfully to inclusive community development and promoting equality, dignity, and social justice for all. With a Certificate in Community-Based Rehabilitation, she has dedicated her career to supporting persons with disabilities, women and Girls with Albinism, children with special needs and the Elderly. Hajira possesses strong Project Management, community mobilization, and leadership skills, which she uses to inspire and empower local communities towards sustainable development. As a board member of IDIWA, she contributes her expertise in community analysis, rehabilitation strategies, and field work to advance the organization’s mission of promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all.

I hold a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya part One (Sections I & II), Kenya Accounting Technicians Certificate (KATC) and a Certificate in Computer Studies. Currently working as Founder and Executive Director, Nasirumbi Foundation in Gayaza Wakiso, and Proprietor Blessed Assurance Bakers in Kasangati Gayaza.
I am the representative of PWDs at the National Council for Higher Education, Board member Integrated Disabled Women Activities, IDIWA Uganda, and Secretary Executive Committee Wakiso District Union for Persons with Disabilities Uganda, Secretary Finance Kasanagati Town Council PWD league. I worked with ABC Children’s Aid Uganda (2005-2019) as Chief Accountant, Jokers Sports Club (2001-2003) as Accountant.
I have attended short-term training on Women Leadership for ITEC member countries, organized by the Bankers Institute of Rural Development – Lucknow, India; Corporate Governance, organized the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda; Advancing PWDs as Key Actors in eradicating HIV, TB and Malaria by 2030 integrating COVID-19 Response and Recover, by TASO Grants Management Unit with support from Global Fund; 13th Annual National Board & Audit Committee Workshop 2022, by the Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda; Training Module on Internal Governance, by Civil Society in Uganda Support Programme; Amplifying Young Women’s Voices in Decision-making Processes, by African Women’s Leadership Institute (Akina Mama Wa Afrika); Financial Management by Siamo Business Institute with support from ICS – Kenya.

I am a community-based rehabilitation -CBR and public health expert, with 25 years’ experience in disability and human rights programming. I have been pivotal in shaping local government legislation and policy, gender narratives and social justice in Uganda, and addressing intersectional challenges faced by women and girls with disabilities across East and Southern Africa. I have attracted substantial funding support, which has enabled WGDs develop capacity to demand their rights, challenge patriarchal norms and stereotypes, influence media narratives, and contribute to policy changes that advance women with disabilities’ rights. I have championed mental health and wellness which has helped women and girls with disabilities overcome daily pressures of their economic and reproductive roles which are mostly not unrecognized.

Asio Anna Grace a female Ugandan with visual impairment aged 33 is a lawyer pursuing a post graduate bar course in legal practice from the Law Development Centre Kampala Uganda, and currently working as the project officer gender, disability and climate justice with integrated disabled women activities (IDIWA). I also serve as a Board Member of the Albinism Umbrella of Uganda, a Co-founder member of the Disability Employment Rights Initiative (DERI) and a Youth Task-force member of the Bible Society of Uganda (BSU). I hold a bachelors degree of Law from Makerere University Kampala.

Sheila is a finance professional, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with CPA, and 5+ years of experience in financial management including financial analysis, developing and monitoring budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting to ensure sound financial practices, donor fund management, administrative operations. Sheila has expertise in overseeing administrative functions, such as procurement, logistics, and office operations, compliance and risk management ensuring adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and risk management practices and human resources; this includes providing support to staff, implement HR policies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. She has proven track record of driving financial growth, and mitigating risks, with skills in financial modeling, and forecasting, with expertise in Excel and QuickBooks systems, and managing cross-functional teams and providing strategic financial guidance, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance

Ngolobe Jackson Jimmy is a distinguished Program Planning, Management, and Evaluation Specialist with over 18 years of multifaceted experience in resource mobilization, consultancy, training, and social work. With a strong academic foundation in Monitoring and Evaluation, he has excelled in civic education, strategic planning, and capacity building, driving impactful projects across East and Southern Africa. As the current P, M&E Manager at Integrated Disabled Women Activities (IDIWA), he spearheads qualitative and quantitative evaluations, enhancing organizational performance and stakeholder engagement. Jackson is adept at managing complex, time-sensitive tasks while fostering collaboration among diverse teams. His commitment to improving social systems and promoting women’s empowerment highlights his dedication to impactful development initiatives.

Kalegere Flavia is a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant at IDIWA, supporting the planning, tracking, and reporting of disability-inclusive programs across education, health, SRHR, GBV, and climate justice interventions. She plays a key role in data collection, field monitoring, documentation of activity reports, and coordination with community structures, healthcare workers, and district stakeholders. Passionate about evidence-based advocacy, she contributes to concept development, success story documentation, and strengthening feedback mechanisms through tools such as templates. She is committed to amplifying the voices of Women and Girls with Disabilities through storytelling and participatory monitoring approaches.

Wokobera Shamim, a youth living with short stature, is an inspiring role model and a strong advocate for the rights of youths with disabilities. She has motivated many youths to embrace their abilities and strive for positive change in communities. As a member of Board of Governors at IDIWA, Shamim represents the voice of youth with disabilities, championing inclusion, empowerment, and equal participation in all spheres of life at local, regional and national levels which earned her an Award as an Advocate for Health Rights of Girls and Young Women with Disabilities in Iganga District by the British High Commission-Uganda. She attended the Beijing+30 and CSW Africa Disrupt conferences tabling the status and recommendations of girls and young women with disabilities. Beyond her leadership at IDIWA, Shamim, is a passionate mentor and role model to fellow youths with disabilities. She encourages them to embrace their uniqueness, pursue education, and participate fully in community development. Her advocacy focuses on breaking stereotypes, promoting self-reliance and advancing disability-inclusive policies and programs. Wokobera Shamim continues to inspire a new generation of youths to rise above challenges and become change makers in their communities.
